Kannan holds the distinction of being an ASQ certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Quality Engineer. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from India, followed by a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University at Buffalo (SUNY). With an extensive background spanning over 8 years in Quality Engineering, Kannan has directed his efforts towards diverse areas including sustaining operations, supplier quality management, continuous process improvements, New Product Development (NPD), and Design Assurance in both ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 regulated environments. During his professional journey, Kannan furthered his education by completing a second Master’s degree in Project Management from Harrisburg University. This additional qualification equips him with the adeptness to employ advanced project management methodologies within development initiatives. Relocating to Canada to advance his career, Kannan assumed the role of Staff Quality Engineer at Baylis Medical Company, subsequently acquired by Boston Scientific. During his tenure, he made valuable contributions in handling the night shift operations in manufacturing sheaths, dilators and sterile packaging processes, helped with the completion of FDA AI response in obtaining guidewire 510(K) clearance, and actively contributed to several NPD projects that enhanced the organization’s portfolio.
